Floydada Whirlwinds Dominate All District Baseball Honors

FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds baseball program earned major recognition in this year’s all-district selections, highlighted by multiple top individual awards and a strong presence across the first and second teams after an outstanding season on the diamond.

Leading the way for the Whirlwinds was senior standout Manny DelaFuente, who was named the District MVP after an impressive all-around season that helped guide Floydada to success throughout district play and into the playoffs.

Brandyn Diaz earned Offensive MVP honors for his production at the plate and ability to deliver in key moments throughout the season. On the mound, Adrian Martinez was recognized as the district’s Pitcher of the Year after consistently delivering dominant performances and help lead the Whirlwinds’ pitching staff.

Valentine Martinez was named Utility Player of the Year, showcasing his versatility and impact in multiple roles for Floydada during the season.

The Whirlwinds also placed five players on the All-District First Team:

Brody Hughes — 1st Team Catcher

 

Peyton Noland — 1st Team 1st Base

Jerald Henderson — 1st Team 3rd Base

EZ Martinez — 1st Team Outfield

Jeriah Jimenez — 1st Team Outfield

Floydada added two more players to the All-District Second Team:

Braiden Garcia — 2nd Team Infield

Noah Cisneros — 2nd Team Outfield

The long list of honors reflects the depth, talent, and hard work of the Floydada baseball program this season. With players recognized across nearly every area of the field, the Whirlwinds continue to establish themselves as one of the district’s top programs.

Floydada’s coaching staff praised the team’s commitment, leadership, and competitiveness throughout the year, noting that the awards are a testament to the dedication shown by the players all season long.

The Floydada Whirlwinds had a very successful season after claiming their first outright district title since 2010, and first Bi-District Championship since 2017.

The Whirlwinds finish their season 19-8 overall and will look to continue the momentum that they have built under head coach Jeff Fabila in the seasons to come.
