
FLOYDADA — Clarissa Delafuente was crowned as the 2021 Floydada Collegiate High School Homecoming Queen on Friday night at halftime of the Whirlwinds 34-8 win over the Smyer Bobcats at Charles Tyer Stadium.
The daughter of Gabe and Lupe Delafuente, Clarissa is a senior at FCHS. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Business Professionals of America (BPA), participates in Academic UIL and has been a class officer and student council representative. Clarissa has previously been a cheerleader and currently plays basketball and softball. She is a member of the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church.
First runner-up for Homecoming Queen was Erin Trevino. She is the daughter of Dr. Gilbert and Laticia Trevino.
The other members of the Homecoming Queen’s Court included Savannah Benevides, Alyssa Hinson and Kaitlyn Vega. All five contestants are classified as seniors.
