QUITAQUE — Caprock Canyons State Park is offering a “First Day Hike” on Jan. 1 as part of a national initiative to get outdoors on New Year’s Day.
The park is giving visitors an opportunity to “start your New Year on the right foot! Literally!” with the guided hike, during which hikers will learn about how nature can help people to feel grounded every day and how to better connect with it.
Also close by, Palo Duro Canyon State Park is offering a guided midnight hike as 2021 turns to 2022 and an afternoon hike on New Year’s Day as the sun sets over the canyon rim.
