AUSTIN – In the latest Texas Girls Coaches Association softball poll, the Floydada Lady Winds (16-2-1) are rated No. 5 in the state in Class 2A.
Lovelady (13-3-2) is rated No. 1 in 2A followed by Crawford (10-2) at No. 2, Stamford
(10-3) is No. 3, and Hamlin (13-2) is in the top 10 at No. 6 Stamford is the defending 2A State and Region 1 champions.
Floydada is currently on a six game winning streak. The Lady Winds only losses have been to 4A Levelland and 3A Coahoma, plus a tie with 3A Abernathy. Floydada has defeated 5A Amarillo Tascosa, TAPPS 4A Lubbock Trinity, and eight teams from class 3A.
The Lady Winds are currently 3-0 in District 3-2A play.
