LOCKNEY – In a move to keep great teachers in Lockney, the LISD board unanimously approved a measure to raise the pay of all certified professionals Tuesday evening.
The move will give each position a $5,000 raise for the 2022-2023 school year. According to the district, teachers in Lockney will now earn $6,000 above the state-minimum salary, or just under $40,000 a year.
“This keeps us competitive with other districts in the area,” Superintendent Jim Baum told the Record, adding that all certified positions, from teachers to counselors to nursing staff will benefit from the increase.
The move will take effect with the salary schedule in the fall.
