SLATON – The Floydada Lady Winds basketball team has been enjoying success in summer games including going 7-0 at the Slaton Team Basketball Camp on Friday and Saturday.

We played well at the Slaton Team Camp. We showed youth at times, but overall I was proud of their performance,” expressed Floydada girls coach Adam Zepeda.

Floydada and Hale Center were the District 3-2A Co-Champs, and the Lady Winds lost only two seniors from that ballclub.

The foundation of winning is now there, and the expectations are there also,” Zepeda commented to The Record earlier in the summer.

Floydada will play in a second team camp at New Home on June 30 – July 1, and then a third camp at Wayland Baptist on July 27-28.

The Lady Winds have been playing in a summer league throughout June on Monday nights at Petersburg. They have a 5-1 record in this league that concludes on June 27.
