LUBBOCK, TX – The New Deal Lady Lions cruised to another 4-2A District Cross Country championship, led by Madison Nunes and Miranda Sosa, who claimed individual gold and silver medals.

Seven of the top ten spots were claimed by New Deal runners as they overcame cold and rainy conditions on Monday to win, and Sudan finished second.

Though Floydada did not place any runners in the top ten, the girls claimed the third place as a team and will advance to the regional meet.

Mya Fipps finished 14th (15:12), Allison Romero was 17th (15:19), and Makayla Fipps claimed 19th (15:25).

Other Lady Winds competing at the regional meet will include Justine Delgado, Faith Lopez, Janeisi Garza, and Kirstin Pyle.

The Floydada Cross Country team is coached by Travis Pittman (head) and assisted by Abby Sanders and Bethany Morales.
