LOCKNEY, TX – The Lockney Longhorns (8-6, 0-1) faced off against the Smyer Bobcats (2-11, 1-0) in each of the teams’ first district game.
The Bobcats’ defense in the first quarter set the tone for the game as they held the Longhorns to only 2 points.
The Longhorns battled back in the second quarter and brought the game back within reach as they went into the locker room down 31-22.
In the second half, the Bobcats were able to hold the Longhorns off and secure the win, 54-46.
Lockney’s senior Johnathan Cienfuegos contributed a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds in the loss to Smyer.
