NEW DEAL, TX – The #14-ranked Floydada Whirlwinds (25-5, 7-1) traveled to play the #15-ranked New Deal Lions (17-7, 5-3) on Wednesday.
From the opening tip, the Whirlwinds were able to apply pressure to the Lions and go on a run to open the game up.
The Whirlwinds had the lead after the first quarter, 30-17.
New Deal was able to fight back in the second quarter, but Floydada wasn’t slowing down and was able to extend their lead to 57-36.
The Winds were playing a team oriented game and were able to find the opportunities to maintain their lead going into the fourth quarter, 78-54.
Floydada would close the game out in the fourth quarter and secure the victory over the New Deal Lions, 105-75.
Floydada’s senior Abran Castillo posted a double-double with seven three pointers (26 points total) and 14 assists in the Whirlwinds’ big win on Wednesday.
