DIMMITT, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds matched up against the Bovina Mustangs in the bi-district round of the playoffs on Tuesday in Dimmitt.
Floydada was able to take control of the game early, as they went up 23-14 at the end of the first quarter.
The Whirlwinds continued to add pressure in the second quarter as they went into halftime with a 43-37 lead.
Floydada secured the victory in the second half against Bovina 79-49 and will advance to the area round of the playoffs against Wheeler on Friday.
The Winds were led in scoring by junior Braun Hobbs with 24 points and 12 rebounds.
Also contributing to the win on Tuesday, was senior Aiden Trevino (20 points) and junior Sergio Valadez (17 points).
