FLOYDADA, TX – After a two-hour standoff on Sunday afternoon, two people are in custody awaiting arraignment on a variety of charges.

Floydada police were attempting to serve an arrest warrant to 34-year-old Michael Ramos of Floydada when he barricaded himself inside a home in the 300 block of West Jackson Street at 4:48 pm.

The warrant stemmed from a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon from earlier in the week.

Ramos was locked in the home and had set a fire before members of the Hale County SWAT team finally talked him out of the residence. He is also being charged with one count of arson.

Also arrested was Erika Yvette Eguia of Floydada, charged with hindering apprehension.

Both are being held at the Hale County Jail in Plainview.

Floyd County Sheriff Paul Raissez expressed his appreciation for the backup received from Armstrong, Crosby, and Hale Counties.

No injuries were reported.
