LOCKNEY, TX – The Floyd County softball teams were in action against one another in a district battle that began on Tuesday.
The Lady Winds started the game with eight runs in the top of the first inning to take an 8-0 lead.
Floydada added five runs to their lead in the top of the third inning, going up 13-1.
The Lady Horns would respond in the bottom half of the third inning to cut the lead down 13-5.
The Lady Winds offense would prove to be too much against the Lady Horns as they secured the 23-8 victory.
The Lady Winds improve to 22-5 overall and 12-1 in district.
The Lady Horns fall to 6-20 overall and 2-11 in district play.
