FLOYDADA, TX – Recently elected members of the Floydada City Council will be sworn in tonight after current members canvass returns and declare results of the May 4, 2024 General Election.

According to Interim City Secretary Reuben Ramon, the meeting needed to be moved up one week to ensure the election results were final before the May 15th deadline.

Ramon could also become the new City Secretary as the Council will discuss and take action on removing Interim from his title.

Council members will also discuss whether to raise the minimum bid for city lots from $500 to $750.

The meeting begins at 6:30 pm in the city’s Council Chambers.
