Lady Winds Fall in Close Battle Against Anson

LAMESA, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds were in action on Friday as they were matched up against the Anson Lady Tigers in the Regional Semifinals.

In game one, the Lady Winds would strike first in the bottom of the second inning, taking a 2-0 lead.

Anson would respond in the top of the fourth inning, adding one run and cutting the lead to 2-1.

The Lady Tigers continued their momentum in the top of the sixth inning, scoring four runs and taking a 5-2 lead.

Floydada rallied in the bottom of the seventh inning, but would fall short in the comeback and lose game one 5-4.

Anson would get the scoring started in the bottom of the first inning, going up 2-0.

The Lady Winds would respond in the top of the second inning and tie the game at 2-2.

In the bottom of the third inning, Anson found momentum offensively and scored five runs to take a 7-2 lead.

Floydada tried to fight back but would fall short, 7-3.

The Lady Winds end their season 28-9-1 (co-district champions), reaching the semifinals for just the third time in school history.
