CANYON, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds came out swinging on Saturday afternoon, overpowering the Clarendon Lady Broncos with an 11-2 win in Game 2 of the 2A Regional Final series. The victory ties the best-of-three series at one game apiece and sets the stage for a decisive Game 3, scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
Floydada wasted no time getting on the board, scoring two runs in the first inning before exploding for five more in the second. By the end of the fourth, the Lady Winds had built a commanding 8-2 lead, showing no signs of letting up. They added insurance runs in the sixth and seventh innings to seal the deal.
Offensively, the Lady Winds racked up 12 hits while taking advantage of Clarendon’s seven defensive errors. Meanwhile, Floydada’s defense held strong, limiting the Lady Broncos to just six hits and two runs.
The Lady Winds’ consistent pressure at the plate and clean play in the field made the difference in a must-win matchup. The win forces a winner-take-all Game 3, where a trip to the state tournament will be on the line.
