FLOYDADA, TX – In a moment filled with admiration and joy, Travis and Geraldine Gentry were named the 2025 Pioneer Couple of the Year during Saturday’s 96th Annual Floyd County Old Settlers Reunion.

The Gentrys, both lifelong contributors to the fabric of Floydada life, were recognized for their shared commitment to faith, family, and community. Married for decades, the couple has been actively involved in local schools, churches, and civic events—always with warmth, generosity, and grace.

“The Gentrys are a team in every sense of the word,” said a speaker during the celebration. “They’ve touched countless lives through their kindness, leadership, and steadfast presence.”

Their honor was met with cheers from the packed downtown square, where friends, neighbors, and relatives reflected on the couple’s legacy and the powerful example they set for future generations of Floydada citizens.
