FLOYDADA, TX — Floyd County Commissioners approved the county’s 2025–2026 budget and proposed tax rate during their regular meeting on Monday, August 18, at the county courthouse. The meeting, led by County Judge Marty Lucke, included a formal budget hearing and multiple 5-0 votes on key financial decisions.
Commissioners approved salaries and allowances for all elected officials and precinct officers, then voted to ratify the revenue increase from property taxes included in the new budget. The court also adopted the full 2025–2026 Floyd County Budget and proposed a tax rate, which will be publicly reviewed during a hearing scheduled for Monday, September 8, at 8:30 a.m.
In other business, commissioners approved the 2026 county holiday calendar and the regular meeting schedule for the year. They also voted to cancel upcoming court sessions originally scheduled for August 25 and September 2.
