FLOYDADA, TX – Downtown Floydada was filled with school spirit Tuesday night as the community came together for the annual homecoming parade and pep rally. Students, families, and alumni lined the streets to cheer on floats, the band, cheerleaders, and various student organizations as they showed their Whirlwind pride.
The parade was followed by a spirited event where the community gathered to celebrate the players and coaches and participate in the pinning of the colors ceremony as well.
This year’s homecoming game is set for Friday night as the Floydada Whirlwinds take on Lubbock Trinity.
Also on Friday, an all school pep-rally will be held at Charles Tyer Stadium at 2:30 p.m. where the homecoming court will be recognized as well as the crowing of the homecoming king.
Kickoff is scheduled at 7:00 p.m. at Charles Tyer Stadium, where fans are expected to pack the stands in support of the team.
