WASHINGTON, DC -Floydada was proudly represented in our nation’s capital this week when Floydada EDC Director and Chamber Board Member Ryan Crowe paid a visit to Washington, D.C. During his trip, Crowe made sure to share a piece of home with Texas Senator Ted Cruz — delivering one of Floydada’s famous pumpkins.
The gift was more than just a kind gesture. Floydada is known far and wide as the Pumpkin Capital of Texas and the USA, and the pumpkin served as a reminder of the community’s rich agricultural heritage.
“Floydada’s pumpkins are recognized across the country, and it’s always exciting to see our community spotlighted on a national stage,” the Floydada Chamber of Commerce shared.
With Pumpkin Days right around the corner, the timing couldn’t be better. The visit in D.C. helped shine a little extra light on Floydada’s tradition of pumpkin growing and celebrating the harvest season.
