Floydada Cross Country Teams Shine at District Meet — Both Varsity Squads Headed to Regionals

LUBBOCK, TX – The Floydada High School Cross Country teams turned in standout performances at the District Meet this past weekend, with both the Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys teams qualifying for the Regional Meet.

In the JV Girls division, Kyra Segura finished in 10th place, while Jenna Martinez earned a strong 6th-place finish.

The JV Boys also impressed, with Jacob Deochoa taking 4th, Noah Fierros finishing 3rd, and Jacob Stark claiming an outstanding 2nd place.

For the Varsity Girls, Mia Casares led the team with a 5th-place individual finish. Their consistent performance across the lineup earned them 3rd place overall, securing a Regional qualification.

The Varsity Boys dominated their division, capturing the District Championship title. The team was led by Ixan Pesina in 5th, Martin Ramirez in 6th, Santi Miranda in 7th, and Manny Delafuente rounding out the top 10. With their collective effort, the Whirlwinds punched their ticket to Regionals as district champs.

The Regional Cross Country Meet will take place later this month, where both Floydada Varsity teams will compete for a chance to advance to State.
