LOCKNEY, TX – October is Fire Prevention Month, and students at Lockney Elementary School had an exciting and educational visit from the Lockney Volunteer Fire Department. Firefighters spent time with the school’s pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classes, teaching them important lessons about fire safety and how to stay calm and prepared in an emergency.

The young students, known as the Little Longhorns, had the chance to see the fire trucks up close and even experience what it’s like to use a real fire hose. The hands-on demonstration made for a memorable day while reinforcing valuable safety information.

Lockney Elementary extends its appreciation to the Lockney Volunteer Fire Department for taking the time to educate the community’s youngest learners and for their ongoing dedication and service to the citizens of Lockney.
