
FLOYDADA, TX – Floyd County Commissioners met Monday with a full agenda, approving a series of actions tied to budgets, energy development, contracts, and election responsibilities.
The court unanimously approved minutes from two previous meetings and processed routine claims and accounts. They approved a new tax abatement agreement for Wake Energy as part of a proposed wind development project. The court also renewed its annual agreement with AgriLife Extension and heard updates from Sheriff Paul Raissez and regional AgriLife leaders. A closed session was held with the county attorney before canvassing the results of the November 4 constitutional amendment election.
Commissioners approved continuing a contract with CertaVote and agreed to lease four decommissioned poll pads. They also authorized the County Clerk’s office to purchase coloring contest prizes for local students and to access private roads in Precinct 3. An SB-22 vehicle lease was also approved.
Looking ahead, the court requested a full department-level budget analysis, discussed upcoming timesheet and holiday changes, and recessed until Monday, November 17, for their next meeting.
