
FLOYDADA, TX — Students at Floydada Collegiate High School came together on Tuesday morning to host a heartfelt Veterans Day Assembly, paying tribute to the men and women who have served and continue to serve in the United States Armed Forces.
The student-led program, titled “A Salute to Our Veterans,” featured music, readings, and reflections that highlighted the meaning of service and sacrifice.
Opening remarks were delivered by Madison Pyle and Rilynn Hinsley, followed by an invocation from Brody Hughes.
The Floydada BPA officers presented the colors, and Jenna Martinez performed the National Anthem, setting a patriotic tone for the morning.
The Floydada High School Band performed the Armed Forces Melody, recognizing each branch of the military, while Mr. John Miller and Mylie Morales shared a moving TAPS performance poem in remembrance of fallen heroes.
Closing remarks were given by Hiram Lopez and Jathan Sanchez, with a benediction from Nalia Ordonez. Lee Henry Mao provided entrance and exit music for the ceremony.
The keynote address was delivered by Nancy Glass Trevino, who shared words of gratitude and reflection on the importance of honoring those who have defended our freedoms.
The event served as a reminder of the strong sense of community and respect for service members that continues to thrive in Floydada. As students led the program from start to finish, their efforts reflected both appreciation and patriotism, ensuring local veterans felt recognized and celebrated.
At the bottom of the program, a quote by James Allen reminded attendees of the day’s message: “No duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks.”
