LOCKNEY, TX – The Lockney General Hospital District Board swore in new member Zach Cummings during its December 10 meeting.
It approved new tax abatement guidelines tied to a potential wind energy repowering project. The board heard presentations from legal and energy consultants on a proposal by South Plains Wind Energy to install 100 turbines, 69 of which would be located in the district. A public hearing yielded no community feedback, but a special meeting is set for January 7 to consider a formal payment-in-lieu-of-tax (PILOT) agreement.
October’s financials showed a net gain of $45,564, and provider volumes were strong across clinics and services.
The board also approved credentialing for more than 25 providers and discussed upcoming recruitment needs and the Salvation Army’s pending departure from leased space in Lockney.
