FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada High School Varsity Cheerleaders are preparing to take the state stage as they head to Fort Worth to compete in the UIL Spirit State Championships.

Before traveling to state, the cheerleaders will have two opportunities for the community to see the routines they’ve been working on throughout the season.

The first performance will take place on Saturday, January 10, at Friendship High School in Lubbock, with performance times scheduled for 9:20 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Admission for the event is $5.

A second local opportunity to support the team will be held on Tuesday, January 13, at the Whirlwind Gym. The cheerleaders will perform during halftime of the varsity boys basketball game, giving the Floydada community a chance to show support before the team heads to Fort Worth.

The UIL Spirit State Championships bring together top cheer programs from across Texas, and the Floydada Varsity Cheerleaders’ qualification marks a significant achievement for the program.

Community members are encouraged to attend one of the performances and help send the team off with strong hometown support as they represent Floydada on the state level.
