FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Collegiate Independent School District (FCISD) Board of Trustees will hold its regular board meeting on Wednesday, January 15, at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will include recognitions, financial matters, legislative discussions, and action items impacting the district.
The meeting will begin with a call to order, invocation, and the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by an opportunity for public comments.
Among the highlights of the agenda, the board will recognize Students and Educators of the Month and honor board members in observance of School Board Recognition Month.
Consent items include approval of the December 9, 2025 regular meeting minutes, setting the February board meeting for February 12, 2026 at 7:00 p.m., review of December 2025 bill payments, approval of employment of personnel, and administrators’ reports.
The board will also consider and possibly take action on House Bill 3 five-year board goals and plans, review the district’s tax report and cash flow statement, approve the district auditor for the 2026–2027 school year, and approve an amendment to the 2025–2026 budget.
Several legislative items are scheduled for discussion, including Senate Bill 11, which addresses a period of prayer and reading of the Bible or other religious texts, and Senate Bill 546, which would require all district school buses transporting children to be equipped with three-point seat belts. The board will review current bus seat belt configurations and estimated costs associated with retrofitting buses.
Additional items include a preliminary review of the 2026–2027 district calendar, a closed session discussion regarding the superintendent’s 2025 evaluation and contract, followed by possible action on the superintendent’s evaluation and contract for the period of July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029.
The meeting will conclude with the Superintendent’s Report, future items for discussion, and adjournment.
