LOCKNEY, TX – Lockney ISD is celebrating the outstanding achievements of its high school band students who recently auditioned for the 2026 All-Region Bands. Through a competitive audition process held last week, multiple students earned placement at the regional level, highlighting the strength of Lockney’s band program and the dedication of its student musicians.
Several students were selected as members of the High School Region Honor Band. Those students include Kara Sanchez on clarinet, Carter Duniven on horn, Daniel Alvarado on trumpet, Anyssa Sanchez on euphonium, and Noah Gonzales on tuba. Their selection reflects strong musicianship and preparation across a variety of instruments.
In addition, Lockney ISD had an impressive showing in the High School All-Region Band. Students earning spots in this prestigious ensemble include X’Zavien Bernal on clarinet, Devin Duran on bass clarinet, Billy Hogan on tenor saxophone who earned first chair honors, Yadira Naranjo on tenor saxophone, Bo Alvis on baritone saxophone who also earned first chair, Logan Rodriguez on trumpet earning first chair, Josiah Cuellar on trumpet, Bray Sanchez on trombone who earned first chair, and Manny Rubio on euphonium.
Several students earning first chair distinctions further demonstrates the high level of talent within the Lockney band program and the many hours of practice and commitment required to reach this level of success.
Students selected for the 2026 All-Region Bands will perform on January 24 at the Lubbock Civic Center, where they will join top musicians from across the region for a day of rehearsal and performance. Lockney ISD extends congratulations to all students who auditioned and especially to those who earned regional honors, recognizing their hard work, dedication, and pride they bring to their school and community.
