FLOYDADA, TX — Floydada Collegiate Independent School District has canceled classes for Wednesday due to ongoing water issues affecting the city.
District officials say the decision was made out of an abundance of caution, as a safe and reliable water supply is required to operate school campuses. While the City of Floydada is actively working to restore water service, officials say there is currently no estimated timeline for when full service will be restored.
“We are thankful that the city is working to restore our water supply, but we have no idea when it will be restored,” the district said in a statement. “We must have a safe water supply to operate our campuses.”
Classes are expected to resume on Thursday, pending restoration of water service. Parents and students are encouraged to monitor official district communication channels for updates.
