FLOYDADA, TX – January 29, 2026 — The City of Floydada has officially rescinded the boil water notice that was issued earlier this week, according to city officials.

On January 28, 2026, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required the City of Floydada public water system to issue a boil water notice after conditions in the system warranted precautionary measures. During that time, residents were advised to boil water prior to using it for drinking or other human consumption purposes.

City officials report that the public water system has since taken the necessary corrective actions to restore water quality. Laboratory test results were submitted to TCEQ and confirmed that the water supply meets all safety standards. As a result, the water no longer requires boiling and is safe for normal use as of January 29, 2026.

Residents may resume regular use of tap water for drinking, cooking, and other household needs.

Anyone with questions or concerns regarding the rescinded boil water notice is encouraged to contact the City of Floydada at 114 West Virginia, Floydada, Texas 79235, or by phone at 806-983-2834.
