
PLAINVIEW, TX – Wayland Baptist University will welcome alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends back to campus for Homecoming 2026, scheduled for February 16–21 in Plainview. The weeklong celebration will feature fellowship activities, worship opportunities, athletic events, and special gatherings highlighting Wayland’s Pioneer tradition and strong sense of community.
Homecoming events will take place throughout the week and are open to alumni and supporters of the university. Advance registration is encouraged.

Wayland invites alumni and friends to Homecoming 2026, Feb. 16-21
PLAINVIEW, TX — Wayland Baptist University welcomes alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends back to campus Feb. 16–21 for Homecoming 2026, a week filled with fellowship, worship, athletics and special gatherings designed to celebrate Pioneer tradition and community.

“Homecoming is always a meaningful time for our alumni and friends to reconnect with Wayland and with each other,” said Jeffrey Vera, Director of Alumni Relations. “Whether you graduated recently or decades ago, we want everyone to feel welcomed back home.”
Activities begin Monday, Feb. 16, with Ice Cream in the Laney Student Activities Center from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday evening features Library Mayhem from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., offering games and fellowship in the university library. Wednesday’s Italian Cream Soda Social will take place from noon to 2 p.m. outside the cafeteria.
Thursday, Feb. 19, includes opportunities to visit campus attractions such as the Mabee Regional Heritage Center museums and the Malouf Abraham Family Art Gallery. That evening, the Flying Queens® and Pioneer basketball teams host the University of Science and Arts–Oklahoma at Hutcherson Center, with special Homecoming activities surrounding the games.
Friday, Feb. 20, serves as a centerpiece day with morning registration and coffee, and Homecoming Chapel at 11 a.m. in Harral Auditorium. Sara Diaz, a 2023 graduate who serves as coordinator for Baptist Student Ministries, which is funded by the Baptist General Convention of Texas, will be the featured speaker.

Wayland President Dr. Donna Hedgepath said Homecoming reflects the university’s strong sense of community.
“There truly is no place like Wayland,” Dr. Hedgepath said. “Homecoming gives us the opportunity to celebrate our shared mission, reconnect across generations and thank God for the lasting impact of this university.”
Saturday, Feb. 21, concludes the week with an alumni coffee mixer, additional athletic events including Flying Queens® and Pioneer basketball games, baseball at Wilder Field, and the presentation of the Homecoming King and Queen during halftime of the men’s basketball game.
Homecoming T-shirts will be available during the basketball games while supplies last, and some events will be accessible remotely through livestream options.
