FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Collegiate ISD Board of Trustees will meet Thursday evening for its regularly scheduled monthly meeting, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The meeting will open with the Call to Order, followed by the Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance. Trustees will then recognize the district’s Students and Educators of the Month before moving into the Public Comments portion of the agenda.

Much of the evening’s business will fall under the Items of Consent portion of the agenda. Trustees are scheduled to consider approval of the minutes from the January 15, 2026 regular meeting and set the next board meeting for March 12, 2026 at 7:00 p.m.

The board will also review payment of the January 2026 bills, consider approval of employment of personnel, confirm resignations, and hear administrators’ reports.

Several items relate to preparation for the upcoming May 2, 2026 School Trustee Election. Trustees are expected to consider approval of the Order/Notice of School Trustee Election and approve the official election resolutions of the Board of Trustees of Floydada Collegiate Independent School District.

In addition, the board will consider approving an agreement with the City of Floydada and Caprock Hospital District to conduct a joint election on May 2, 2026. Trustees will also review and potentially approve an Election Services Contract with Floyd County for the May election and appoint the Early Ballot Board/Election Judge and an Alternate Judge.

Beyond election-related business, trustees will review the district’s Tax Report and Cash Flow Statement.

The board will also hold a Public Hearing on the Academic Performance Report for the 2024–2025 school year, followed by consideration and possible action on the report.

Trustees are scheduled to consider and possibly take action on the proposed 2026–2027 School Calendar and approve an amendment to the 2025–2026 budget.

Additional discussion items include consideration of the creation of a volleyball program in the district and the potential purchase of laptops for the secondary campus.

The board will enter closed session to discuss administrators’ contracts and salaries for the 2026–2028 contract term, as permitted under Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.074. Following closed session, trustees will reconvene in open session to take any necessary action regarding those contracts.
