LOCKNEY, TX – Lockney High School and Lockney Junior High are preparing to host their upcoming Secondary Course Fair and Parent Night, offering families an opportunity to learn more about academic options for the 2026–2027 school year. The event will take place Thursday, February 12, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Secondary Library.
Students currently in fifth through eleventh grades, along with their families, are encouraged to attend and explore the wide variety of courses and academic pathways available. The course fair is designed to help students begin planning for their future by providing valuable information about class offerings, graduation requirements, and opportunities that align with students’ interests and career goals.
The event will give students and parents the chance to meet teachers, gather details about course expectations, and gain a better understanding of how course selections can help shape a student’s academic journey. Early planning plays an important role in helping students stay on track for graduation while also allowing them to explore electives, advanced coursework, and programs that prepare them for college, career, and technical education opportunities.
In addition to the course fair, individual planning will soon begin for upper grade students. Mrs. Riley is scheduled to begin meeting one-on-one with eighth through eleventh grade students in March to assist with course selections and ensure students are making informed decisions about their academic schedules.
School officials encourage families to take advantage of this opportunity to ask questions, learn about available resources, and help students make confident choices about their future. Events like the Secondary Course Fair and Parent Night help strengthen communication between families and educators while supporting student success both inside and outside the classroom.
All families with students currently enrolled in grades five through eleven are invited to attend and participate in this important planning event.
