LOCKNEY, TX – A recent community effort has provided a meaningful boost to families in the Lockney area, as The Outcome Closet received a large donation of food items through the Souper Bowl of Caring Challenge.

The donation was coordinated by Ella Snowden, who serves as a Floyd County Healthy Texas Youth Ambassador. Through the challenge, Lockney ISD students collected canned goods and grocery items to support families in need. In total, 392 food items were gathered and donated to The Outcome Closet, where they will now be distributed to families within the Lockney community.

Snowden selected The Outcome Closet as the recipient organization to ensure the donations collected by local students would remain in the community and directly benefit families in the area. The contribution reflects the efforts of students and the importance of youth-led service projects that encourage community involvement and support for neighbors in need.

The Outcome Closet is currently working to organize the distribution of the donated items. Plans are underway to establish weekly open hours for families, along with a special distribution day to help ensure the groceries reach those who can benefit from them most.

The recent donation highlights the impact of student participation in service initiatives and demonstrates how community partnerships can help meet local needs in meaningful ways.
