POST, TX – Two members of the Floydada Collegiate powerlifting team represented their school on Saturday at the regional powerlifting meet held in Post, turning in strong performances against competitors from across the region.
Azael Gomez highlighted the day for Floydada with an impressive showing in his weight class. Gomez earned a third-place finish and also set a new regional record in the deadlift for his class, marking a major accomplishment at one of the season’s most competitive events.
Teammate Luis Lopez also competed at the regional meet, demonstrating determination and strength throughout the competition. Lopez finished 12th in his weight class while representing Floydada Collegiate against a field of talented lifters.
Both athletes showcased the hard work and dedication they have put in throughout the season, proudly representing Floydada at the regional level.
