WELLINGTON, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds were on the road for Friday’s district matchup against the Wellington Skyrockets.
The Whirlwinds struck first in the top of the second inning, taking a 3-0 lead.
Wellington gained the lead with a five run bottom of the third, making it 5-3.
Floydada grinded out in the later innings, scoring one in the fourth, and four in the sixth and seventh innings, to secure their second straight district victory, 12-5.
The Whirlwinds move to 10-6 overall and 2-0 in district play.
