Lady Horns go 3-1 at Tahoka to win consolation trophy

TAHOKA — The Lockney Lady Longhorns made a good run in the Tahoka Tournament this past weekend by finishing 3-1 and claiming the Consolation Championship trophy.

Lockney’s only loss was in the opening round on Thursday to Sterling City 57-49. Sterling City (8-1) went on the tourney championship by beating Floydada 46-43 in overtime on Saturday.

The Lady Horns came back and won a pair of games on Friday in the consolation bracket by beating Forsan 51-40 and Plainview Christian 68-37. Then Saturday in the consolation finals, Lockney edged Lubbock Kingdom Prep 48-45.
