Floydada was 17-25 (68 percent) as a team at the free-throw line which played a significant role in their seventh straight win to start the season.

Sophomore Abram Castillo led Floydada with 20 points, while the trio of Hobbs, Cooper and freshman Ty Henderson made double-figures with 14, 13 and 10 points respectively.

Littlefield’s top scorers were Tyrell Norman with 13 and Chippy Green with 11.

The Whirlwinds have nearly turned into a “pick-your-poison lineup” with Abrams (22.9 avg.), Hobbs (13 avg.), Cooper (10.1 avg.), Henderson (9.3 avg.) and Aiden Trevino (6.9 avg.). Floydada’s defense feeds the offense. The minutes the other players are contributing have been very important, especially in the paint.
