LOCKNEY – Freshman Dyllan Thiebaud put his name on the list of no-hitters thrown by Lockney pitching this season as the Longhorns cruised to a convincing 29-0 win over the Petersburg Buffaloes on Tuesday afternoon. Lockney’s offense gave Thiebaud an abundance of support in crunching 21-hits.
Longhorn pitching has produced three no-hitters this season. Thiebaud threw an impressive 14-stirkeouts, but he did allow five base runners with a pair of walks and hitting three batters. To top it off, Thiebaud hit a three RBI homerun.
Lockney (7-3) waisted little time in getting things going with 11-runs in the first inning, then added eight in the second and pushed across 10-more runs in the third frame. The Longhorns had eight batters that each provided multiple hits, multiple RBI, and multiple runs scored. Four of those Longhorns had three hits each – Pablo Morales, Nathan Cinceros, Damion Gonzales and Morris Salas.
In addition to Thiebaud’s homerun; Morales and Gonzales slapped a triple each; and the trio of Cineceros, Austin Rodriguez and Salas each hit a double for a total of six extra base hits by the team.
Lockney is back on a winning streak with three in a row. They previously had four wins in a row before falling to undefeated Shallowater in a very well played game.
