FLOYDADA, TX – Three runs this past month for the Floydada Volunteer Fire Department included two grass fires on the same day.

According to Floydada VFD reports, firefighters responded to a grass fire 3 miles north of Floydada on U.S. 70 before 1:00 pm on September 20, 2022, and then returned to the scene less than two hours later.

Volunteer rescuers were also called out to a two-vehicle accident just south of Blanco Canyon on U.S. 62 (at Texas FM 54) at 9:00 pm to help with an extrication.

Again, all Floydada VFD members are community volunteers who respond to fires and accidents across Floyd County.
