LOCKNEY, TX – Increased activity at the clinic, emergency room (ER), and lab in September helped W.J. Mangold Memorial Hospital beat rates set one year ago.

During the October monthly Lockney General Hospital District meeting, board members heard how the clinic experienced an increase of 938 visits for the fiscal year (which ended September 20, 2022) over the same period in 2021.

There were 348 more ER visits during the year, the lab experienced 4,549 more tests, and physical therapy had 288 outpatient visits for the month, the best of any month during FY22.

CEO Vincent DiFranco did tell board members that despite an increase in total gross revenue (charges) for September ($1.477 million), adjustments to the charges were just under 50 percent resulting in a net loss of just over $7,000 for the month.

The next meeting will be held on November 30, 2022, at noon.
