IDALOU, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds (4-0) traveled to Idalou to take on the Wildcats on Tuesday in a non-district matchup.
The Whirlwinds were able to jump out into the lead in the first quarter and apply pressure to the Wildcats, creating turnovers that led to transition points for the Whirlwinds.
Floydada created 15 steals off of the Wildcats in the game and dominated both sides of the ball for the majority of the game.
The Whirlwinds held the Wildcats to only 2 points in the 3rd quarter to help seal the deal and win the game 70-46.
Senior Abran Castillo led the team in scoring with 20 points, and sophomore Ty Henderson contributed 17 points to the team’s total.
The Whirlwinds will have the rest of the week off for Thanksgiving break, and they are back at it next week against Lubbock Roosevelt on the 29th.
