LOCKNEY, TX – The Lady Horns were in action this weekend as they hosted the Lockney Tournament.
Their first-round matchup was against Post.
The Lady Horns were able to dominate both sides of the ball, and even though their offense struggled at times, they were still able to defeat the Lady Lopes 37-17.
Senior Mariah Ascensio was the leading scorer for the Lady Horns with 11 points.
The second-round matchup had Lockney against Morton.
The Lady Horns were able to find their groove on offense in this game with a 31-point first half.
It was more of the same in the second half as well, as Lockney would win the game 55-20.
Senior Adriana Villarreal outscored the whole Morton team with her 22 points.
The Lady Horns found themselves in the championship game against the Lorenzo Lady Hornets.
The Lockney Lady Horns defeated Lorenzo 62-46 thanks to a 21-point fourth quarter and would go on to win the tournament.
The team will now head into district play as they prepare for their first game against Sudan on Friday.
