Longhorns Faced Ropes in Bi-District Playoff Series

LUBBOCK, TX – The Lockney Longhorns battled the Ropes Eagles in the first round of the playoffs on Friday.

Ropes was able to get ahead early in game one, scoring five in the first two innings to take the lead 5-0.

In the bottom of the third, the Eagles’ offense was able to put up fourteen runs and extend their lead to 19-0.

The Longhorns were able to score three runs in the top of the fifth but were unable to mount a comeback and were defeated 20-3 in game one.

In game two, the Longhorns were the home team.

The Eagles started the game with two runs in the first and then added nine in the second and nine in the third to go up 20-0 after three innings.

Lockney scored one run in the bottom of the fourth and was trailing 21-1.

Ropes secured the victory in the fifth inning, winning 24-1.

Congratulations to the Lockney Longhorns baseball team on a great season.
