FLOYD COUNTY, TX – A post on Snapchat, a social media site, led to the arrest of a male juvenile on Wednesday morning in Lockney.
According to the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Paul Raissez received information regarding a threat against Lockney ISD, which initiated an investigation. The youth was apprehended at 6:40 am and later transferred to Juvenile Probation with a pending charge of Terrorist Treat, a third-degree felony in Texas.
The suspect is currently at the Lubbock County Youth Detention Center in Lubbock until his hearing in County Court.
An investigation by the Plainview Police Department appears to tie a threat to Plainview ISD to the same suspect.
