FLOYDADA, TX – Texas Country/Red Dirt artist Curtis Grimes will join First Baptist Church of Floydada in worship on Sunday morning, May 5.

Grimes, known for his songs ‘Cowboy Constitution,’ ‘Ain’t Worth the Heartache,’ and ‘Little Bit,’ will perform at the Panhandle Firemen’s/Fire Marshals’ Association dance the night before in Canyon.

Speaking with KFLP in 2021, Grimes talked about his philosophy of ‘going to where the people are’ on Saturdays while performing in church on Sundays, something he does as part of his Ten Fingers ministry. “I use it as an opportunity to come into anywhere where they’ll let us play and try and share the gospel,” he told the station, adding he usually ends his sets with a time of worship.

FBC Associate Pastor Cory Davis knows Grimes through a family connection and asked the singer about the possibility of coming to Floydada, which Grimes accepted. “It’ll be a time of worship and gives Curtis a chance to share his testimony with the church,” said Davis.

During the morning worship service, Grimes’ performance will occur at 10:30 on Sunday, May 5. The event is free, but a love offering will be collected for Grimes and his band. Much of the money they raise is used to purchase Bibles that are handed out free of charge at all of his shows.
