LOCKNEY, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds and the Lockney Longhorns battled in the final game of the regular season on Friday.
The Whirlwinds started the scoring in the top of the third inning, going up 1-0.
Floydada added one more in the top of the fourth to go up 2-0.
In the top of the fifth inning, the Whirlwinds offense exploded for nine runs and secured the district victory 11-0 over the Longhorns.
Floydada finishes the regular season with a 17-6 overall record and 9-1 in district play.
Lockney finishes 7-14 overall and 2-8 in district play.
