LOCKNEY, TX – Lockney Elementary School is preparing to celebrate the accomplishments of its students as the 2025–2026 school year comes to a close with its annual End of Year Awards Ceremonies on Wednesday, May 13.

The event will recognize the hard work, leadership, and academic success of the school’s Little Longhorns from kindergarten through fifth grade. Families, friends, and community members are invited to attend and celebrate the students’ achievements.

Due to a schedule change, the Kindergarten through 4th grade awards ceremony will now begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Lockney Elementary Cafeteria. Earlier in the day, students and staff will travel to the high school gym at 9:45 a.m. to attend a graduation ceremony and state send-off celebration for Daniel. Students are encouraged to make state-bound signs and help cheer him on as he represents the community at the state level.

The 5th grade awards ceremony will still take place at 11:30 a.m. as originally scheduled.

Students are encouraged to dress in their “Sunday Best” for the special occasion. Parents are welcome to take their children home following the ceremony, and all students will be able to pick up a sack lunch from the cafeteria before dismissal.

The annual awards ceremonies continue to be a meaningful tradition at Lockney Elementary, bringing together students, families, and staff to celebrate a successful school year and the accomplishments of the district’s young learners.
