Lockney Longhorn Band Earns Fourth at State Contest

SAN ANTONIO, TX – The Lockney Longhorn Band has made their community proud once again with a strong showing at the 2025 UIL State Marching Band Competition, held in San Antonio this week.

The band performed in the preliminary round on Tuesday morning, impressing judges and audiences alike with their precision, creativity, and energy on the field. Out of numerous talented 2A programs from across Texas, the Lockney Longhorn Band was one of seven schools selected to advance to the finals, which took place later that evening.

In the finals, the Longhorn Band delivered another outstanding performance, earning a 4th place finish in the 2A division — a remarkable achievement that reflects months of dedication, hard work, and musical excellence.

This marks the third consecutive year that the Lockney Longhorn Band has qualified for the UIL State Marching Contest, further establishing their reputation as one of the premier small-school marching programs in Texas.

The Lockney community continues to show strong support for the Longhorn Band, celebrating not only their impressive state finish but also the spirit and pride they bring to every performance.
