Lockney Softball Field
LOCKNEY, TX – The Lockney Lady Horns are gearing up for another exciting spring on the diamond as head coach Lauren Salazar and her staff officially released the 2026 varsity and junior varsity softball schedule. The upcoming season features a strong mix of scrimmages, tournaments, non-district contests and a competitive district slate that will ultimately determine postseason positioning.
The Lady Horns will then played their home opener on Feb. 9 against Olton. They will travel to battle in the South Plains Showdown on Feb. 12-14.
Tournament play continues later in February as Lockney hosts the Lockney Tournament from Feb. 19-21 and travels to Ralls for the Ralls Tournament on Feb. 26-28. Those early tournaments will provide valuable experience before the Lady Horns turn their attention to district competition.
District play officially begins March 17 when Lockney hosts Floydada, one of several key matchups that will shape the district standings. The Lady Horns will face each district opponent twice, home and away, giving the team plenty of opportunities to establish momentum.
Other district opponents include Clarendon, Quanah, Ropes and Memphis. Senior Night is scheduled for April 17 when Lockney hosts Memphis, marking the final district contest of the regular season.
All varsity district games are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., followed by junior varsity games at 6:15 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
