FLOYDADA, TX – A jury trial has been scheduled for April 28 for Alberto Guerrero, Jr. facing multiple felony charges stemming from a 2025 armed standoff that drew a significant law enforcement response.

Guerrero is charged with aggravated sexual assault, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, felon in possession of a firearm, and theft of a firearm.

The charges are connected to an incident that occurred on February 28, 2025, when authorities executed felony warrants at a residence in the 500 block of West Lee Street in Floydada. The situation escalated into an armed standoff involving local law enforcement, the Lubbock SWAT team, and the U.S. Marshals Service.

According to reports, Guerrero fled from officers and hid beneath a residence, leading to an extended standoff. Law enforcement officials ultimately took him into custody after deploying specialized tactics to remove him from underneath the home. The operation resulted in significant damage to the structure.

Guerrero was arrested at the scene without further incident and has remained in custody as the case moves through the court system.

The upcoming trial is expected to address all charges related to the incident. Additional details, including court proceedings and potential outcomes, will be determined as the case progresses.
